Laguna Blanca
Question: What is the name of your Summer Camp or Program and what is its mission?
Answer: The name of Laguna Blanca’s Summer Camp Program is Summer @ Laguna. Its mission is to provide kids the opportunity to run, explore, learn, and grow in an enriching environment where fun and learning collide.
Q: Describe the activities involved in your camp or program.

A: Summer 2021 features eight weeks of Laguna’s favorite summer camps, such as Arts @ Laguna—plus over 30 new camp offerings, which come in all different shapes and sizes to satisfy a wide range of ages and interests. From Arts, Academic, and Adventures & Games camps to LEGO and STEM camps, Summer @ Laguna has something for everyone.
Q: What is the age range for children in your camp or program?
A: The age for Summer @ Laguna campers ranges from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Each camp has a specific age range.
Q: How many years has the camp been running? Do you get a lot of return campers?
A: This is the first year of our full Summer @ Laguna program, but our signature camps, Arts @ Laguna and Camp Cito (formerly known as Summer @ Laguna), have been running for years with many excited return campers each year!
Q: What protocols does your camp have in place due to COVID-19? What is different about your camp this year?
A: Summer @ Laguna camps run in accordance with CDC and SB County COVID safety protocols. Laguna Blanca successfully and safely ran summer camps in 2020 and has been holding in-person instruction for the entire 2020-21 school year.
Physical distancing, face covering requirements, utilization of outdoor learning spaces, and daily cleaning are integral to our program.
Q: What goals do you have for kids participating in your camp or program?
A: We aim to provide a fun, unique, and memorable experience for each camper. Our goal is for kids to leave camp each day happy, tired, well-fed, and eager for the next day of camp!
Q: What makes your camp or program unique?
A: Our program is unique in the amount and types of offerings that kids can choose from. From Jewelry Design and Ukulele Building to Intro to AR/VR Creation and Ninja Warrior Training, there really is a camp for everyone.
Q: How do you hire staff for your camp and when hired, is there a training that they have to complete before the camp begins?
A: Laguna faculty and other talented local educators serve as our camp staff, along with a dedicated and caring team of counselors and CITs. At Summer @ Laguna, we pride ourselves on taking excellent care of our campers. There is pre-camp training for each staff member.
Q: What is the best part, in your opinion, about your camp or program?
A: The best part about our program is the level of care that each camper receives and the skill and self-esteem building that come from attending a camp in the Summer @ Laguna program.
Q: In what ways is your camp or program educational?
A: Though we offer educational camps, such as Pre-Algebra and Writing Workshop, we strive for campers to learn while having fun in each of our camp offerings.
For example, in our Battlefield Nerf camp, campers spend mornings learning the culture, politics and conflicts that defined a civilization and then apply this to an afternoon of Nerf games that mimic famous battles and reinforces collaboration and teamwork.
Whether a child builds fine motor and STEM skills in our LEGO Masters camps or learns the basics of rocketry while deep diving into the history of space flight in our Rocket Camp, our goal is for each camper to leave with new skills and experiences.
Q: What is the price range of your camp and do you offer scholarships?
A: Our camps are $360 per week and includes a snack and lunch daily. A limited amount of need-based summer camp scholarships are available.
