In an effort to encourage local acts of justice in the community, the public is invited to attend a free, informative summer speaker series called Justice and Engagement at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1500 State St., Santa Barbara.

The church will host four informative/interactive sessions in June and July. Dates are Sundays June 19, June 26, July 3 and July 10.

The Justice and Engagement series — conversations with community advocates, concerned residents, and local service providers — is open to all in the Santa Barbara area. Inter-faith and non-denominational voices are welcome.

The topic for June 26 is Engaging in Environmental Protection. The speaker at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. will be Rev. Scott Claassen, vicar and chaplain of St. Michael’s University Church Isla Vista.

Forum host at 11:30 a.m. will be the Community Environmental Council, featuring speaker Kathi Brennan King, director of climate education and leadership; and Jen Hernandez, climate justice manager.
