On Thursday, Santa Maria police detectives served an arrest warrant for the Aug. 14 fatal shooting and took Samuel Reyes Espinoza, 23, of Santa Maria into custody without incident, according to Sgt. Todd Logan from the Detectives Bureau.

The arrest stemmed from the shooting death of Felix Ivan Antonio Antonio, 19, of Santa Maria. He was killed while sitting in his vehicle.

Police said the shooting occurred overnight in an alley in the 200 block of West Newlove Drive.

The victim did not appear to have any gang affiliations, police said.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder with a gang enhancement.

He was booked into the Northern Branch Jail with bail set at $4 million.
