The Santa Barbara Foresters will play host to the Texas Express Baseball Club of Houston for a five-game series at Pershing Park beginning Tuesday.

The teams will play single games Tuesday and Wednesday, a doubleheader on Thursday and a single game on Friday. Under guidelines from the City of Santa Barbara, no spectators are allowed at games at Pershing Park.

The Texas Express is a team made up of  college players from NCAA Division 1, 2 and 3 schools, the NAIA, junior colleges and recent high school graduates.

The team booked its trip to Santa Barbara after a tournament they were going to play was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Foresters were notified that all members of the Texas team have been tested for the coronavirus.

The Foresters return to the field after taking Monday off following five straight games. They went 4-1 in the first week of their summer season, losing Sunday’s game to the Southern California Halos, 8-5.
