Three Dos Pueblos Little League 8-under All Stars homered to power the team to a 19-9 victory over Ventura Coastal in the District 63 Tournament at Montalvo Little League on Saturday.
Cyrus Brunner, Isaiah Estrella and Cody Sheffield hit bombs to help DPLL continue playing in the tournament. It will play again on Monday against Santa Paula, with the winner advancing to Wednesday’s championship against Goleta Valley South.
Brunner went 2 for 3 and scored three runs. Estrella also hit a triple and scored twice. Marina Nagai had a hit and scored three runs and Sebastian Gutierrez collected a hit and scored twice.
Estrella, Matteo Conant, David Ramirez and Ngai combined on the mound for the win.
The Dos Pueblos Little League 8U team is comprised of Solomon Bodenhamer, Cyrus Brunner, Hudson Campbell, Matteo Conant, Isaiah Estrella, Mauricio Galicia, Santiago Grande, Sebastian Gutierrez, Tyler Newendorp, Marina Ngai, David Ramirez, Cody Sheffield, and Dax Snowden. The team is managed by Kenny Newendorp, and coached by Scott Campbell, Mario Galicia, and Jake Sheffield.
