The Carpinteria Valley Chamber will host a guided fall tour of Athens and the Greek Islands, Oct. 13-21, during which travelers will visit Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini, which boasts some of the world’s most glorious history. A trip preview meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at The Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 5606 Carpinteria Ave.

Trip highlights include an Athens city tour featuring the Temple of Zeus, Ancient Olympic Stadium, and the Acropolis and Parthenon, followed by a visit to the New Acropolis Museum.

Travelers will then take a high-speed ferry to the island of Mykonos in the Aegean Sea for two nights, exploring the galleries, sandy beaches and iconic landmarks. Next on the itinerary is a ferry ride to Delos, known as the legendary birthplace of twin gods Artemis and Apollo, and a Delos tour featuring the Temple of Apollo.

Then ride the ferry for a two-night stay on picturesque Santorini, Greece’s most romanticized island famous for its white-washed buildings and hilltop villages overlooking the Aegean Sea. Enjoy wine tasting and learn about wine-making in this unique volcanic soil and special climate.

Travel to the town of Oia, where the best views of the crater are found, and enjoy an Oia Village Walking Tour. Travelers will have a full day of leisure in Santorini before boarding the ferry back to Athens for sightseeing, shopping and a farewell dinner.

The tour price is $4,175 per person (double occupancy) and includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles, first class-hotel accommodations, 10 meals, professional tour escort, ferry rides, motor coach transportation, and sightseeing with admission to all attractions per itinerary.

An optional three-night Delphi and Kalambaka post tour extension will be discussed for those travelers interested in extending their stay in the Greek Isles.

The preview meet-up offers an opportunity to meet with Premier World Discovery, learn about the places on the tour itinerary, and get answers to travel questions. RSVPs are requested, though not required, 805-684-5479.
