A box truck overturned on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara Thursday morning and the driver reportedly had major injuries from the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The agency’s incident log noted that the truck driver had been cut off by a sedan and crashed off the freeway onto the southbound Milpas Street off-ramp around 4:45 a.m.

The truck was loaded with empty boxes, and the off-ramp will be closed for about three hours while crews clean up the scene, the CHP said at 7:30 a.m.

The right land of southbound Highway 101 was also closed at the time.
