Isaac Estrada and Jairo Guerrero Flores scored long-distance goals in the first half to lead San Marcos to a 2-0 win at Hueneme in the Royals’ final Channel League boys soccer tune-up on Friday.
Both goal scorers got their opportunities after winning the ball from Hueneme defenders.
“Hueneme did a good job in the second half to move the ball and created some good opportunities for them,” San Marcos coach Paul McLean said. “We were pleased with moments from our team but we looked rusty and lacked energy.
“There were some highlights besides the goal. AJ Ranii looked sharp and created several opportunities for others and some of his own and we kept a shutout.”
The Royals are 8-3-3 and open league play at Lompoc next week.
