A three-vehicle crash in Orcutt injured two people who were sent to local hospitals on Monday.

Shortly after 10 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the intersection of Highway 135 and Goodwin Road for a report of a multi-vehicle crash, according to fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli.

One vehicle overturned, and while it had some intrusion into the interior area, firefighters did not need to undertake significant extrication to free the patient, Bertucelli said.

A patient with moderate injuries was taken by Calstar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Bertucelli said.

A second patient, with minor injuries, was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center by American Medical Response ambulance, he added.

The  California Highway Patrol will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
