The UCSB women dropped their first Big West match Saturday, falling 3-1 at UC Davis.
With the 27-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-18 loss, the Gauchos are 7-1 in conference play. Hawaii is alone in first place at 8-0 after sweeping CSU Bakersfield on Saturday.
Five different Gauchos notched double-figure kills, with Tallulah Froley leading the way with 15. Michelle Ohwobete added 14 and Rowan Ennis posted an 11-2-20 line for a .450 hitting percentage.
UCSB’s Macall Peed had a match-high 16 digs, and Grace Kloss had 26 assists.
However, UC Davis prevailed at the net, posting 19 total blocks.
UCSB returns home to host CSU-Northridge on Tuesday and Hawaii next Saturday at the Thunderdome. Both contests start at 7 p.m.
