The UC Santa Barbara women’s soccer team is still looking for its first goal of the regular season.

The Gauchos played at St. Mary’s on Sunday and fell 1-0 for the second game in row.

The only goal came in the sixth minute as the ball slid by the Gauchos’ defense during an untraditional play.

Both teams put up seven shots each.

Jessica Tamayo and Claire Grouwinkel put the most pressure on the Gaels’ defense as they each put up two shots.

In her first game of the season for the Gauchos, goalkeeper Evann Smith contributed three saves during her 90 minutes in the net.

The Gauchos will be on the road again, traveling to Sacramento State to take on the Hornets on Thursday.
