Victor L. Garza

Victor L. Garza went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 19, 2022. Victor was born in Houston, Texas, on Feb. 14, 1957. He was one of six children.

Victor is survived by his two daughters Amanda and Sophia Garza; his mother Maria Elena Lopez; siblings Lupe Garza, Esther Smith (Wayne), Molly Zermeno (Patrick McElearney), Ruth Esqueda (Richard); as well as many nieces and nephews.

From his teenage years to adulthood Victor enjoyed life to the fullest. He made friends easily — friends from all walks of life. Victor enjoyed anything involving the outdoors — camping, fishing, and the beach, he was a certified scuba diver.

In his late teens Victor went to the Job Corps in Utah where he learned to be a machinist. In returning to Santa Barbara, Victor continued his education at Santa Barbara City College. He worked for Applied Magnetics as a machinist for many years before opening his own business, Goleta Prototype Tooling.

Shortly after opening the business Victor married and had two beautiful children, Amanda and Sophia. Victor’s life changed dramatically after the birth of his girls, they were the most important thing in his life, along with a great desire to seek and know God.

Victor was a good father, son, brother, uncle, and follower of Jesus. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and especially us his family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 26 at Anthem Chapel, 6595 Covington Way, Goleta, under the tent.
