Tuesday is Election Day for the city of Santa Barbara, which has the position of mayor and three City Council members on the ballot.
Semi-official results, which will include ballots returned and counted as of Tuesday, will be released around 8:10 p.m., and the final results will be released later in the week, according to the Santa Barbara County Elections Office.
Ballots were mailed to registered voters last month, and can be returned by mail, in a ballot drop box, or a Voter Services Center by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mailed ballots have to be postmarked on or before Nov. 2 (Tuesday) to be counted, so election officials usually advise dropping them off in the days right before the election.
The City Council oversees policy and financial decisions for the city, and members appoint the city administrator and city attorney staff positions.
City Administrator Paul Casey left in September, so the council members elected this week will join their colleagues in picking a replacement.

The seats on the Nov. 2 ballot include mayor, and District 4, District 5, and District 6 council members.
