A woman was trapped following a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday on Highway 101 near Buellton.
At 11:47 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the incident on northbound Highway 101 one-half mile south of Santa Rosa Road, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
It took firefighters 10 minutes to extricate the woman from the wreckage, Safechuck said.
The woman had moderate injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center, Safechuck added.
The vehicle ended up on the highway’s right shoulder, but traffic was affected due to firefighting equipment blocking one lane.
A Caltrans sign alerting drivers about the narrow bridge also was knocked down during the incident.
The circumstances of the crash were under investigation by CHP officers from the Buellton area office.
