A woman was found dead on a Santa Maria sidewalk on Monday, but police say the death did not appear to involve suspicious circumstances.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., Santa Maria police officers and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Miller Street, near Enos Drive.

The woman, who was approximately 45 years old, was found on the east sidewalk.

Police suspect she died due to a medical problem or drug overdose, but the cause of death will be determined by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau.

Her name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
