A motorist escaped with only minor injuries Sunday night in a rollover crash in the Oak Park area of Santa Barbara.

The collision occurred about 10:15 p.m. in the 300 block of West Alamar Avenue, according to Santa Barbara fire Battalion Chief Robert Mercado.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found an SUV on its side, with the female driver still inside, he said.

Firefighters helped the woman, the only occupant, out of the vehicle, and she was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to nearby Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

The woman’s identity and details on her condition were not available.

It appeared the woman had struck one or more parked vehicles, which caused the SUV to overturn, Mercado said.

With parking on both sides and numerous speed bumps, West Alamar Avenue is a relatively narrow street in the densely populated neighborhood.

The crash is under investigation by Santa Barbara police.
