A small vegetation fire broke out Friday evening in Santa Barbara near Arroyo Burro Creek, but crews quickly stopped the forward progress of the flames.
The fire at Foothill and Barger Canyon roads was roughly a quarter acre at around 7:20 p.m., according to emergency radio traffic.
It was spreading at a moderate rate of speed, and one structure was threatened, per emergency radio traffic.
Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Los Padres National Forest were dispatched to the incident in the 3000 block of Foothill Road, county Fire Capt. Mike Gray said.
By 7:29 p.m., firefighters had stopped the forward progress of the blaze, Gray added.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday night.
