The Taliban are making it very difficult for us. The manager was beaten severely for allowing women patients to sit without an hijab. Two of our women dentists quit. The American Red Cross of the Pacific Coast brings together local volunteers to care for their neighbors, trains thousands of people each year in lifesaving skills, support our military members and their families, and responds to disasters big and small, including local home fires and larger disaster events. Apples to Zucchini Cooking School
We bring people together over shared meals by teaching children, teens, and adults how to prepare delicious, nutritious, affordable meals made from seasonal and local ingredients. In our hands-on cooking classes, students prepare a meal together, then sit down to enjoy company and conversation. We offer after school classes, birthday parties, Food As Medicine classes, chef-led classes for adults, corporate team-building, private parties and more.

Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (BUNS)
For 32 years, BUNS has provided stray and relinquished rabbits and guinea pigs with food, shelter, and medical care. All rabbits that leave BUNS are spayed or neutered, health checked and ready to go to their new families. BUNS is 100% volunteer run and donation funded. All donations go directly to helping the animals.

C.A.R.E.4Paws
C.A.R.E.4Paws works to reduce pet overpopulation and improve pet family welfare. Our critical services prevent suffering and ensure that animals don’t end up in shelters due to lack of resources and access to care. We assist more than 20,000 pet families in need every year in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

For nearly 75 years, the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara has ensured superior cancer care for all residents of Santa Barbara County regardless of means. The Cancer Foundation is the largest contributor to Ridley-Tree Cancer Center, the leading provider of outpatient cancer care on the central coast.

Casa Pacifica
Founded in 1994, Casa Pacifica is the largest non-profit provider of children’s and adolescent mental health services in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. We specialize in treating children and young adults with complex mental health challenges including emotional dysregulation, depression and anxiety. Our Santa Barbara-based mobile crisis unit, Safe Alternatives for Treating Youth (SAFTY), handles an average of 189 crisis calls per month. Learn more by going to our website.

Center Stage Theater
Center Stage is a black box rental venue that exists to provide a professional, affordable, and accessible performing arts venue for the Santa Barbara community. Annually, we welcome more than 125 performances of theater, dance, music, film and more. Producers range from local dance and theater schools to fully professional productions. We strive to provide both a performance home for our artists as well as technical and administrative mentorship in an atmosphere that is welcoming for all.

Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute (CIMWI) is dedicated to positively impacting conservation through marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation, research and education to promote ocean and human health. CIMWI’s core work is the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, malnourished, orphaned, entangled and oiled marine mammals. CIMWI serves Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

CLUE (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice)

Community Partners in Caring
We are a non profit 501c3 organization providing free non-medical caregiving services to dependent seniors age 62 and over. Volunteer drivers help seniors access basic needs, such as the medical appointments, grocery shopping and social engagement. Volunteers will also shop and deliver pharmacy and grocery items purchased by the client. In addition to to help reduce isolation volunteers can also call or visit seniors at home to engage them in conversation.

Environmental Defense Center
Since 1977, EDC has empowered community-based organizations to advance environmental protection by providing free and low-cost legal services in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Counties. EDC has represented about 140 nonprofit organizations, retiring 40 offshore oil leases, stopping multiple efforts to import liquefied natural gas, and permanently preserving more than 100,000 acres of open space, among other victories for our climate and this stretch of California’s coast.

The Visual Arts and Design Academy (VADA) at Santa Barbara High School is a unique “school within a school”

Ganna Walksa Lotusland
Lotusland is a stunning 37-acre botanical garden in the hills of Montecito. The former estate of opera singer and socialite, Madame Ganna Walska, it is home to more than 3,000 species of plants, many of them rare or endangered. Today the property is recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful gardens. Lotusland’s mission is to preserve and enhance the estate and gardens as well as educate and inspire visitors with its collections, sustainable horticulture practices, and plant conservation.

Heal the Ocean focuses on wastewater infrastructure improvement and the prevention of ocean pollution.
The organization’s programs include capping leaking oil wells, the removal of derelict boats that wash ashore, cleaning up abandoned homeless encampments in environmentally sensitive area, fostering collaborative Styrofoam recycling initiatives, providing dog waste bags for the city and county, and more. -

League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara
Rooted in the movement that won the right to vote for women, the League of Women Voters continues “making democracy work.” Our mission is “to empower voters and defend our democracy.” The local League registers voters, holds candidate forums, and explains ballot measures. We do not endorse candidates or political parties, but we take positions through study and consensus. Our committees educate and advocate on local issues such as housing, criminal justice and the environment.

LEAP mitigates the effect of poverty, racism, and trauma by providing high-quality, trauma-informed childcare, comprehensive, culturally sensitive family support, and visionary community leadership. Formerly, Isla Vista Youth Projects, LEAP now serves families from across Santa Barbara County when they need help most. Services include: FREE, year-round care for children 0 – 5, the only diaper bank in SB county, parenting, immigration and financial literacy classes, medi-Cal, calfresh, & food.

Los Padres Council, BSA
Los Padres Council serves youth in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. Our aim is to help chartered organizations effectively use the Scouting program and expand the use of the program to other community groups. Los Padres Council operates outdoor experiences through Camp Rancho Alegre in Santa Barbara county. Los Padres Council also delivers education to youth in Southern California through operation of The Outdoor School.

Since 2004, ForestWatch has been leading the charge to protect and restore the forests, chaparral, grasslands, rivers, wildlife, and wilderness along California’s Central Coast through education, advocacy, and when necessary, legal action. ForestWatch is the only organization focused solely on protecting our region’s public lands, from the famed Big Sur coastline, to San Luis Obispo’s Santa Lucia Range and the Carrizo Plain, to the rugged backcountry of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Nature for ALL abilities ~ NatureTrack offers free K-12 field trips on local trails and beaches, including outdoor trips for wheelchair users of any age. We provide wheelchair users with Freedom Trax devices that convert manual wheelchairs into off-road vehicles. This innovation allows wheelchair users to access beaches and trails, opening up a world of natural beauty and experience previously inaccessible. Our mission is to make nature accessible to all, creating stewards of our natural world.

North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center
The mission of the North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center is to reduce the incidence of and vulnerability to sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking by providing education and prevention skills to community children and adults, and to alleviate the trauma experienced by survivors of these crimes by providing direct services. The Center serves northern Santa Barbara County, which includes the Santa Ynez Valley, Lompoc, Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Cuyama and outlying areas.

Organic Soup Kitchen provides nutrition and food security to thousands of low income seniors, cancer patients and chronically ill community members throughout Santa Barbara County. We handcraft nutrient dense SoupMeals and deliver them to residents homes through a network of 50+ health and human service partners and volunteer delivery drivers. Our programs support 6,000+ LGBTQ+ people annually through health and prevention services; peer social support groups for youth and older adults, LGBTQ+ specific counseling and counselor training services; education, trainings, advocacy, and community events such as the Pacific Pride Festival.
