Firefighters responded Tuesday to a residential structure fire in Goleta, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 10:30 a.m. to the fire on the 700 block of Cathedral Pointe Lane, said fire Engineer Mike Gray.

Upon arrival, they found flames and smoke coming from a garage in what started as a vehicle fire, Gray said.

Firefighters were able to quickly douse the fire and prevent it from spreading into the main house, he added.

The residents who were at home at the time were able to safely exit the structure.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze was under investigation, Gray said.
