Question: What is the name of your camp or program, and what is its primary focus?
Answer: 805 Beach Summer Camp is a youth beach volleyball program focused on teaching the fundamentals of beach volleyball while creating a fun, supportive environment. Campers build skills, confidence, teamwork, and a love for being active outdoors on the sand at East Beach in Santa Barbara.
Q: How long have you been running the program? Do you have any professional accreditations or certifications?

A: 805 Beach has been running youth beach volleyball programs in Santa Barbara since 2019. Our camps are led by experienced coaches with collegiate playing and coaching backgrounds who are passionate about youth development.
All coaches and staff are CPR certified, background checked, and TB tested to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every camper.
Q: What specific goals or objectives will participants be working towards during their time at the camp?
A: Participants will work on developing the core fundamentals of beach volleyball, including passing, serving, setting, hitting, and game strategy.
Our goal is to help campers build confidence, improve teamwork and communication, stay active outdoors, and develop a lifelong love for the sport while having fun!
Q: Can you describe the educational components integrated into your program?
A: Our program integrates skill-based instruction with lessons in teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Coaches teach proper volleyball techniques, game strategy, and decision-making while encouraging leadership, confidence, and a positive mindset. Campers also learn goal setting, resilience, and how to support teammates in a fun and active environment.
Q: What is the daily schedule like, including activities, meals, and rest periods?
A: Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at East Beach, with each day focused on a specific volleyball skill. For example, Monday emphasizes lots of ball touches and ball control through passing drills, partner work, and movement exercises. Throughout the morning campers take frequent water breaks, along with a longer snack break from 10:15–10:45 AM, before finishing the day with games and scrimmages that reinforce the skills learned.
Q: What is the typical age range of campers who attend your programs?
A: Our camps typically serve athletes ages 7–18. We welcome players of all experience levels—from beginners who are brand new to beach volleyball to more experienced middle school and high school athletes looking to improve their skills and confidence on the sand.
Q: Do you offer full day and 1/2 day options?
A: We are looking at launching a full day camp option (9am-3pm) as well as an early bird option (7:30am start) this upcoming summer. Check out our website for updates on this matter!

Q: What are your policies regarding staff background checks, training, and the child-to-staff ratio? How do you ensure the safety and well-being of campers?
A: Camper safety and well-being are a top priority in our program. All coaches and staff are background checked, TB tested, and CPR and First Aid certified.
We typically maintain a camper-to-coach ratio of no more than 10:1 to ensure close supervision and individualized instruction. Campers take frequent water breaks, follow structured activities, and are supervised at all times to create a safe, supportive environment.
Q: What is the cost of attending your camp, and do you offer any financial assistance or scholarships?
A: The cost of camp is $210 for residents and $231 for non residents. Registration is handled through the City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department. At this time, financial assistance may be available through the city’s scholarship programs for qualifying families.
Q: Is there anything you would like to share about your program that was not already mentioned above?
A: Other 805 Beach Programs: Holiday break camps (Spring, Thanksgiving, and Winter), after-school clinics, competitive boys & girls club teams, adult leagues, adult classes, adult tournaments, drop-in clinics, and private lessons.
