Guillermina Gonzalez, 80, died peacefully at Sarah House in Santa Barbara on July 12, 2019. Guillermina was born in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, on Nov. 22, 1938, to Ricardo Gonzalez and Etelvina Torreblanca. She was a resident of Santa Barbara for 24 years.

Guillermina was a strict mother with a strong character who instilled good traits and behavior to help her children become good people. She was always happy and very personal  in her affection for others. She enjoyed dancing, watching television, and socializing with family and friends.

In particular, Guillermina liked to wear elegant clothes. She enjoyed listening to the music of la Sonora Santanera. Her favorite dishes included turkey legs in mole poblano, ribs in salsa of chipotle and spaghetti.

Guillermina was beloved by her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

Our angel has departed ahead of us in order to send us her blessings and love from Heaven as she did here on earth.

Guillermina is survived by her children Ignacio, Alvaro, Jaime, Victor, Maria Soledad and Maria Guadalupe; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

The rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 18, and the funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The graveside service will be held immediately at Goleta Cemetery, 44 S. San Antonio Road.

Guillermina González, 80, fallecío el viernes, 12 de julio de 2019, en Sarah House en Santa Barbara. Guillermina nació en Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, el 22 de noviembre de 1938. Sus papas fueron Ricardo González y Etelvina Torreblanca y fue residente de Santa Bárbara por 24 anos.

Fué una madre exigente y de carácter fuerte para hacer unos hijos buenos. Ella fué muy alegre y muy expresiva en sus caricias. Le gustava bailar, ver televisión y socialisar con familiares y amigos y le gustava vestir con elegancia. Guillermina fué una persona muy sociable en la mayor parte de su vida y aislada en los últimos años.

Le gustava escuchar la música de la Sonora Santanera y sus comidas favoritas eran el mole poblano con piernas de pavo, costillas en salsa de chipotle y spaghetti.

Fué una persona muy querida por todos sus familiares y personas que tuvieron el placer de conocerla. Le gustava ir a la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Se nos adelanto nuestro Angel a mandarnos sus bendiciones desde el cielo, como lo hizo aquí en la tierra.

Sobreviven sus hijos: Ignacio, Alvaro, Jaime, Victor, Maria Soledad, y Maria Guadalupe; y muchos nietos, nietas, bisnietos y un tataranieto.

El Rosario se llevará acabo el jueves, 18 de julio de 2019, a las 7 p.m., y la Misa de la Resurrección se celebrará el viernes, 19 de julio, ambos en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. El entierro será en el cementerio de Goleta, 44 S. San Antonio Road.
