Dos Pueblos took on Division 1 girls lacrosse power Westlake and fell 17-5 on Monday.

The Chargers fell behind 8-2 by halftime.

“In the end, it was missed passes and missed ground ball opportunities that created more opportunity for Westlake to gain possession,” said DP coach Samantha Limkeman. “We didn’t seem to be able to keep the ball when we got the ball.”

Avery Ball and Olivia Geyling each scored two goals and Sydney Steele had one for DP (0-2).

“Our girls went out there and played their hearts out,” Limkeman said. “Despite the score, I am so proud of the way my girls played tonight with composure, grace, and passion. We don’t usually play so many D1 schools in our regular season, but I knew my girls could handle it. We are heading into our toughest league game against Cate School on Thursday feeling more prepared having started off season with these experienced teams.”
