The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast (BGCMCC) Board of Directors has named Michael Boyer as the next CEO, effective Oct. 26. BGCMCC conducted its search process with the assistance of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s CEO Search Team.

Boyer brings an array of experiences to BGCMCC. He has been a leader in operations, technology and marketing for 25 years. Most recently, he was CEO of Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab. Before that he was COO and board director of Digital West Networks, Inc., which was recognized as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine.

Boyer has led a number of merger and acquisition strategies. In 2017, Norcast Networks, Inc. was acquired by Digital West while he served as COO. In 2015, Digital West acquired AdSmart, Inc., as he served as CEO of AdSmart. Prior to that, Boyer was COO of ElementsLocal, Inc., which was acquired by Bridgeline Digital, Inc., a public company in Boston, in 2013.

During his career, Boyer has worked with some of the world’s largest brands on digital strategy, design and engagement, including Apple, HP, Quiksilver, Roxy, Oakley, Samsung, Blackberry, Marvell, Linear Tech, Tennis Channel, UPS, Sport Clips, Paul Davis, California Closets, and Jiffy Lube.

Boyer, who lives in Arroyo Grande, is committed to the community through director positions with the Rotary Club of Pismo Beach, Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County & Stand STRONG. He received the Top 40 Under 40 award from the Pacific Coast Business Times and the Top 20 Under 40 award from the Tribune.

“I plan to humbly challenge our community leaders, my friends and colleagues in the business community, and myself on a daily basis to play an even bigger role in supporting the mission of Boys & Girls Club of Mid Central Coast to empower and equip young people in need. I’ve never been more eager to make an impact.”

As CEO, Boyer’s responsibilities include leading the organization’s strategic direction, oversight of organizational operations, financials, programming, brand reputation, talent recruitment, resource development, and stakeholder relationships. The CEO also serves as the organization’s primary ambassador and lead communicator.

Boyer, in partnership with his team, will oversee the organization’s 13 club sites. The CEO reports to BGCMCC Board Chair, Conrad Stephens.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast was founded in 1966. Located in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, the organization have 12 club sites in Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Atascadero, Shandon and Paso Robles.
