For 17 years, the generous women of the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara have been combining their charitable dollars into significant grants that focus on serving the needs of women, children and families in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria.

Since 2004, the Women’s Fund has awarded more than $8.6 million to local nonprofits, and for 2021, member donations reached the highest level ever.  — $750,000,

“Despite a pandemic and an economic crisis, our members generously donated to create the largest grants pool in our history — $750,000 awarded to local nonprofits this spring — proving once again the power of women joining together to help our neighbors,” said Lynn Karlson, board chair.

“The Women’s Fund educates and inspires women to engage in making lasting change in our community,” she said.

The Women’s Fund will announce the new recipients at a Virtual Celebration of Grants to be held online, 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 5.

“This exciting event will provide a virtual window into the ongoing work and valuable service of the nonprofit organizations that Women’s Fund members voted to support following our rigorous independent research process,” Karlson said.

The virtual event is free and open to Women’s Fund members, their guests, and the public. Register to attend at https://www.womensfundsb.org/event/celebration-grants-1 or visit the Women’s Fund website www.womensfundsb.org.
