Riley Monroe drove in four runs with a homer and a triple and Lacy Spear went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Dos Pueblos to a 19-2 Channel League win at Santa Ynez on Friday.

Georgia Wilson went the five-inning distance for the Chargers, scattering eight hits and striking out five.

The Pirates actually outhit the Chargers, nine to eight. Boogie Grossini went 3-for-3 for Santa Ynez and Michaela Baker 2-for-3.

“Positives all around today,” Dos Pueblos coach Mike Gerken said. “We didn’t take care of the ball very well on Wednesday, so it was nice for our defense to play to our expectations.

“Mia Reveles continues to shine in center field. She made a great one-hop throw to home to get a runner trying to score from second and ended the game tracking down a shot to the gap in right center. It seems she makes an improbable catch once or twice a game.”

The Chargers are now 8-1 in league play and 12-4 overall.

“Very encouraging how the lower half of our line up is starting to come alive,” Gerken added. “Lacy Spear, especially, has really been hitting it well lately.”
