Bishop Diego’s Luke Williams advanced to the finals of the Tri-Valley League singles tournament with two lopsided wins on Wednesday.
Williams, the tourney’s top seeded player, beat James Sokoloski of Foothill Tech, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarterfinals, and then defeated Jinming Wang of Cate, 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals.
Williams will play in the finals at Villanova Prep at 3 p.m. Friday.
“Luke came out strong and played two amazing matches,” Bishop Diego coach Natlee Hapeman said. “HIs serve was as strong as I have seen and his strategy is spot on.”
