Dos Pueblos pulled away in a 21-8 third quarter and went on to beat host Lompoc 54-37 in a Channel League game Tuesday.

Joaquin Riker and Cole Collins led the Chargers with 13 point apiece, and Trevor Lamberson added 11. Elijah Perkins led Lompoc with 10 points.

“Both teams struggled to score in the first half,” Dos Pueblos coach Joe Zamora said. “We were able to make some adjustments against their trapping zone in the second half.

“Cole Collins did a great job against their zone by making good passing decisions and finishing around the basket. Joaquin hit some open shots and did a great job on defense. I felt our defense was much better tonight and it allowed us to pull away in the second half. Kael, Trevor Lamberson, and Jonathan Barrera did a great job against their zone.”

The Chargers improve to 2-7 in league play and 2-9 overall. Lompoc is 0-9 both in league and overall.
