Nominations are open for the 78th Annual People of the Year awards (formerly Man & Woman of the Year awards). The Santa Barbara Foundation is an organizing sponsor, with Noozhawk returning as a sponsor.
Nominations are being accepted through 5 p.m. Aug. 9, online at SBFoundation.org/PYAwards.
Considered one of the Santa Barbara area’s most prestigious awards, the People of the Year awards honor Santa Barbara area individuals, couples or families whose extraordinary service represent a meaningful commitment to the community; address a real community need or enhance the quality of life; or demonstrated exemplary acts of generosity, kindness or innovation in the Santa Barbara area.
Past recipients, such as 2020 honorees Tom Parker, Catherine Remak, and Michael and Marni Cooney, serve the Santa Barbara area and continue to strengthen the community through their leadership, generosity and volunteerism.
“The 78th People of the Year awards is a reminder of what makes Santa Barbara so special,” said Jackie Carrera, Santa Barbara Foundation president/CEO. “This year, we will celebrate our newest recipients and also honor those that have come before them, as their commitments continue to contribute to the vibrant giving culture of our region.”
The 78th People of the Year recipients will be honored at an in-person event, 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6. For more information, visit SBFoundation.org/PYAwards.
