Chelsi Ramirez fired a 1-under par 36 to lead the Dos Pueblos girls golf team to a 233-275 non-league victory over host Rio Mesa at Las Posas Country Club on Thursday.
The 9-hole 36 was a personal best during a match for Ramirez, who had birdies on Nos. 1 and 9. She credited her short game as the key to her low score, said coach Dan Choi.
Victoria Chen had a birdie on No. 7 en route to a 42 for Dos Pueblos.
“We challenged the girls to play a little smarter when playing at an away course and all of them stepped up today,” said Choi.
