Riley O’Brien won medalist honors to lead the San Marcos girls golf team to a 283-317 victory over Cabrillo in a Channel League dual match at Sandpiper Golf Course on Tuesday.
O’Brien shot a 50 over nine holes, two strokes better than Kenslee Martin of Cabrillo. Fia Torrey of the Royals was third with a 54.
“The course played a little differently after that awesome thunderstorm last night, so some of the scores were a little higher than usual, but we enjoyed the beautiful afternoon,” said San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton.
The Royals improve 8-5 overall and 5-2 in league play. They play a nonleague match against Royal at Soule Park in Ojai on Wednesday.
