Bishop Diego extended its Frontier League win streak to nine matches and 27 straight sets with a sweep of Thacher on Thursday.
The Cardinals improved to 9-0 in league play and 21-7 overall with the 25-20, 25-12, 25-19 win.
Kylie Zimmerman had a career-high four blocks and three kills, and Clara McDonald added six kills and a block for the Cardinals.
“We were really sluggish to start; I think our Spirit Week festivities on-campus during the day are catching up to us,” Bishop Diego coach Dillan Bennett said. “We are dragging a bit physically, and our focus is not as sharp as it was a few weeks ago.
“Thacher played incredible defense tonight, and their libero was a magnet for the ball. Our hope is we will take the next three days to rest before one last week of the regular season next week.”
Bishop Diego plays at Cate on Oct. 14 and at Costa Mesa, third-ranked in CIF-SS Division 7, on Oct. 16.
