Santa Barbara City College Trustee Jonathan Abboud announced recently that he is running for a seat in the California Assembly.
Abboud, who is also the general manager of the Isla Vista Community Services District, says he is the most experienced and capable of serving in the newly configured Assembly district.
āI am doing this to help other people, and I want to tackle the issues that people feel are most important and bring the experience and knowledge I have to those day-to-day issues,ā Abboud said.
Abboud talks about his views on housing, education, Isla Vista and a variety of other topics.
On the controversial Munger Hall housing proposal, Abboud blames the state of California and its inability to fund the building of enough housing.
He also talks about enhancing equity at Santa Barbara City College, and toward the end of the podcast shares his āfun factsā about himself, including that he likes to grill, get his food from the Isla Vista Co-Op, and exercise.
