The Dos Pueblos Little League 10-Under All-Stars shut out Thousand Oaks LL 7-0 to secure the Section 1 Championship on Wednesday.
A dominant pitching performance backed up a balanced offensive attack to advance DPLL to the State tournament.
Andrew Wang started on the bump, opening the game with 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Matias Csordas took over from there, striking out six batters in 3 1/3 shutout relief innings.
Wang and Csordas were helped out by some standout defensive plays from Isaiah Estrella, who made two sliding catches and threw out a runner from the outfield.
On the offensive side, James Chou and Oliver Palmer led the way, as they both tallied a triple and a single. Chou drove in three runs and scored twice while Palmer scored two runs of his own.
With the win, DPLL will move on to the State tournament in San Diego beginning on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
