Riley Green rose to the ocassion in San Marcos High’s CIF-SS girls volleyball playoff opener at Hart.
In a terrific performance, the senior recorded a double-double of 17 kills and 15 digs and blocked four balls in the Royals’ 26-24, 11-25, 25-18, 26-24 Division 3 first-round victory against a team that beat them twice during the regular season.
“Riley Green had one of her best games of the year,” said San Marcos co-coach Tina Brown of the senior.

McGibben finished with 10 kills and five blocks on the night
Brown praised the defense and passing of libero Lily Blankenhorn. She had 23 digs.
Setter Josie Gamberdella did a good job setting her hitters and contributed at the net with her blocking and dumps.
“It was an exciting night for the Royals, and we’re ready to take on our next game on Saturday,” said Brown.
San Marcos will host third-seeded Oaks Christian (25-3) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
