Bishop Diego’s Luke Williams lived up to his No. 1 seed in winning the Tri-Valley League singles title on Friday, beating long-time friend and No. 2 seed Timmy Quest of Villanova, 6-3, 6-1.

“Both gentlemen have played against each other from an early age,” Cardinals coach Natlee Hapeman said. :Today, Luke came out on top. His strong calculated ground strokes coupled with his amazing strategy was unbeatable. His hard work throughout the years was seen today in his strength and agility on the court. His game is impressive!”

For the season, Williams played a total of 138 games against 18 opponents, winning 126 of those games, Hapeman said.
