The Carpinteria girls were locked in an energetic back-and-forth battle on Senior Night won by visiting Malibu 40-38.

Amarisse Camargo led the Lady Warriors with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds, adding seven steals. Jamaica Cook added six points, 13 rebounds and three steals, and Charlotte Cooney had six points, seven steals and five assists.

“I was very happy with our effort and execution on defense and offense,” Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzales said. “I also want to say thank you to our 10 wonderful seniors for being such valuable contributors to our program. We will miss them.”

The Warriors, now 5-7 in Citrus Coast League play and 12-13 overall, will attempt to finish at .500 overall with a game at Villanova Thursday to qualify for an at-large playoff spot.

Boys: Santa Ynez 86, Santa Maria 53

Landon Lassahn scored 36 points to lead Santa Ynez to an 86-53 win over Santa Maria Wednesday.

Jackson Ollenburger added 23 points, and Caleb Cassidy got his fourth double-double in a row with 19 points and 23 rebounds.

Girls: Santa Maria 38, Santa Ynez 35

The Santa Ynez girls lost to Santa Maria 38-35 in Ocean League action Wednesday.

Helina Pecile led the Pirates with 16 points, 12 boards, and three steals. Kylie LaPointe added nine points, six steals and three rebounds. Jadyn Gardner had six points and five rebounds.
