Senior Cole Schoenwetter turned in a dominating pitching performance for San Marcos in a 4-0 Channel League baseball win against Ventura on Thursday.

The right-hander, who has signed with UCSB, struck out 10 and allowed one hit in five innings. He was lifted after 85 pitches.

Erik Perez held the shutout, needing just 13 pitches to close out the game.

Schoenwetter also did damage with his bat, going 3 for 3 with a home run, double and a single. He had two RBIs.

Darren Orlando had an RBI double, while Brendon Cekada collected two hits.  Owen Estabrook and Brad Cekada also added singles and Mason Pettingill had an RBI. 

San Marcos played errorless defense.

The Royals improve to 4-0 in league and 7-3 overall. They are scheduled to play Dos Pueblos on Tuesday, weather permitting.
