Raglan Kear led Santa Barbara with 10 kills and four aces in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of Rio Mesa Thursday, raising the Dons’ Channel League record to 8-1.

Mikey Denver had five kills in the middle for Santa Barbara, and Ford Harman had seven aces and 25 assists. Will Harman had six kills.

After spring break next week, the Dons, 13-4 overall, head to Hawaii for the Punahou Tournament April 5-9.

Bishop Diego 3, St. Bonaventure 0

The Cardinals came away with a Tri-Valley League sweep of visiting Seraphs, 25-21, 25-12, 25-23. Bishop Diego is now 4-1 in the TVL and 10-5 overall.

Liam Flood led the way with 11 kills on 22 swings, and Braylon Katers had 10 kills.

“While we didn’t serve as many aces as we would have liked, we cut our service errors by 65%,” Cardinals coach Dillan Bennett said. “St. Bonaventure was a strong team with physical hitters, and while we had a pretty good game plan in mind, we also didn’t hurt ourselves with errors.

“The other night, we committed an error for every two points we scored. Tonight, we played a cleaner match, and we’re hoping this is a turning point in our season.”
