The Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society (SYVHS) in partnership with the Dog Adoption and Welfare Group (DAWG) will host their 8th Annual Spay-ghetti Dinner fundraiser, 5 p.m. June 3 at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott in Buellton.
The event will include a Yappy Hour cocktail hour, spaghetti dinner with complimentary Santa Ynez Valley wines, live music, and hundreds of silent and live auction items.
The event provides critical funding for programs including pet adoptions, a clinic offering low-cost vaccinations and spay/neuter, and outreach programs such as the Junior Vet Club.
Sponsorships are being solicited at all levels from grand champion to silent auctions.
Presale tickets will be released in April for $75. Visit https://syvhumane.org/news-events/8th-annual-spay-ghetti-dinner/ to sign up.
The Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society (SYVHS) was established in the early 1970s as an informal group of individuals who were concerned about the care and protection of animals in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The SYVHS shelter was built after a major fundraising campaign in 1984 and has been expanded several times over the years to serve more animals in need.
DAWG began in 1991 as a group of volunteers caring for lost and abandoned dogs impounded in the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter.
Through the hard work, dedication and generosity of volunteers and community members, DAWG grew into an organization that placed more than 8,000 dogs into forever homes.
After DAWG’S lease was not renewed with the county in March 2020, DAWG and SYVHS determined that by combining their strengths, assets and experience, they could help more animals throughout Santa Barbara County.
Together, the two groups have been able to expand services in ways that wouldn’t have been possible separately.
