A hard landing left a skydiver with an injured leg on Saturday afternoon in Lompoc.

At approximately 4 p.m., members of the Lompoc Fire Department and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department medic unit were dispatched to the Lompoc Airport

After descending, the skydiver touched down and ended up with a possibly broken leg.

A CalStar medical helicopter responded to pick up the patient, who was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Before the helicopter could set down, the crew had to wait for additional skydivers to safely land, according to emergency dispatch reports.

Lompoc Airport is home to Skydive Santa Barbara, so skydivers floating to the ground are a regular site from around the Lompoc Valley.

Additional details were not immediately available.
