Highway 154 was shut down Wednesday afternoon due to a vehicle fire near the vista point, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident involving a vehicle towing a trailer was reported shortly before 3 p.m.

Santa Barbara County and Los Padres National Forest firefighters were dispatched to the scene west of Paradise Road.

The highway was shut down in both directions in the area of the fire, which had spread to the nearby vegetation, the CHP said.

At 3:30 p.m., Caltrans tweeted that there was no estimate of when the roadway would reopen.
