Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter (SBCAS) has teamed up with Greater Good Charities, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and The Animal Rescue Site to host Clear the Shelter with NBCUniversal Local’s pet adoption campaign.
People interested in adopting animals can visit one of SBCAS’ shelters in Santa Maria, Lompoc or Santa Barbara, noon-4:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25 through Sunday, Aug. 27.
SBCAS will have food trucks onsite at the local weekend events at the following locations:
Santa Barbara: 5473 Overpass Road – Nimita’s Cuisine.
Santa Maria: 548 W. Foster Road — MYM Hot Dogs and Vinyl DJ Gary Slavin
Lompoc: 1501 W. Central Ave. — Antojitos Oaxaquenos Rosita,
Those who are not ready to adopt can donate to the Clear the Shelters Fund with the option to cover transaction fees with a donation so 100% goes directly to the shelter or rescue of their choice.
“Donations enable us to provide the extra things that the pets in our care deserve, like toys and treats, and specialized medical and behavioral support,” said Sarah Aguilar, Animal Services director. “We couldn’t save as many lives as we do without this integral support.”
Clear The Shelters is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign spearheaded by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal.
Every year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations, plus affiliated stations, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities promote pet adoption and raise needed funds
