Laguna Blanca boys and girls cross country competed in the Tri-Valley League finals on Thursday.
Kira Rameson was the lone Owl to qualify for the CIF prelims, finishing in eighth place in the girls race with an improvement of 40 seconds from a year ago. This is Rameson’s second straight year qualifying for the prelims.
“[Kira] is a tough competitor and I am so happy to see how much she has improved this season,” Laguna Blanca coach Abigail Stadtlander said. “The rest of the girls team competed well as well, and I was so proud of how hard they worked this entire season.”
In the boys race, Tanner Murphy competed well with a two-minute improvement from last year’s league finals.
Along with Murphy, Andreas McClintock turned in a solid performance as well.
“The rest of the boys team competed well and worked together as a team, which was a great thing to witness,” Stadtlander said. “They constantly encourage one another and cheer each other on.
“I am so thankful for a great group this year and I hope to see even more greatness come the track season.”
