Cate High boys and girls cross country each qualified for the CIF-SS Division 5 prelims after an impressive showing at the TCAA League Finals on Thursday.
In the boys race, the Rams came away with second place behind Foothill Tech.
Cate had the two fastest boys in the race, as Sebastian Sutch led the group with a time of 15:17 while Everest Schipper finished in second after crossing the finish line in 15:53.
Along with Sutch and Schipper, Cate got solid performances from Ati Zwieback (8th, 17:12), Oliver Lee (15th, 17:47) and Jordan Ryan (18th, 18:02)
The girls team finished in third place and was paced by Francesca Sutch’s top-five finish with a time of 20:06.
Following Francesca Sutch were Stella Rodgers (14th, 21:35), Caroline Keohane (17th, 22:06), Coco Kliman (18th, 22:08) and Riley Pan (24th, 23:41).
On the JV level, Cate finished in second place on the boys side while the girls team came in third.
The CIF-SS Prelims will be next Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.
