Bill Robinson, formerly of Santa Barbara, passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2023, at his home in New Orleans, surrounded by family. Bill was born Nov. 18, 1945, in Terhune, Indiana.

At age 16, Bill moved to Santa Barbara with his mother Mary “Jody” Childers Robinson, and brother Michael Robinson. After high school, he served in the Army in Vietnam.

In 1996, Bill met and married Kathy Price, a journalist who wrote about homes and remodeling for the Santa Barbara News-Press and later for the Los Angeles Times.

Bill was a beloved general contractor in Santa Barbara, and was president of the local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. In 1997, the family moved to a ranch in Arroyo Grande, and Bill became a nationally respected construction trainer and speaker.

Bill and Kathy moved to New Orleans in 2008 to help with rebuilding homes following Hurricane Katrina. Bill was a moisture management consultant and a building science educator for the Louisiana State University Ag Center.
