“Cancel Culture” is a phenomenon of these past few years that I suspect will soon pass into oblivion.
Those who fear being canceled would be wise to realize those who attempt to ostracize others are not nearly as influential as they appear to be.
If certain doors close, we simply need to find another door to enter where we can deal with others of integrity.
Attempting to cancel anything or anyone is nothing but a childish game of nonparticipation in life events. When I was a child, I acted like a child — we need to put childish ways behind us folks!
Think about that. When we were young, we could easily get caught up in cliques and often exclude others from being part of our little informal clubs.
Such actions were not necessarily intentional. Often, we simply wanted to associate with others who had common interests.
I suspect you may well have been either part of one of these cliques or sadly excluded from social acceptance.
Perhaps the reason was socio-economic. Perhaps it dealt with personalities. Perhaps perceived intelligence or athletic prowess were precursors to group acceptance.
We were all once young and impressionable.
Some things just can’t be canceled. That’s the direction I prefer to take in this discussion.
In fact, I’d like to focus on one particular thing that is most important to me personally. No matter how hard some may try, the Word of God cannot be canceled!
The writer of the Book of Hebrews powerfully defends God’s Holy Word in Chapter 4, verses 12 and 13:
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the hearts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
Scripture has poured out of the pens of God’s messengers over many centuries. Paul writes to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 on the significance of God’s Word: “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
We’re talking about the very thoughts of a Holy God being brought down to His creation to guide them through their life journey,
Let me add that neither Christianity nor Judaism can be canceled. Through the centuries the world has been chipping away at Judeo-Christian precepts and principles that were set in place by the God of this Universe.
Satan, who has been given dominion of this world for a time as we know it, has led the charge to take down the pillars God has established.
Fortunately, he, too, is a created being, a fallen angel of light, who must submit to his Creator. He is doomed and will be thrown into the Lake of Fire in the end times.
We would be wise to realize that many in this world are, unfortunately, caught up in dysfunctional social behavior built upon selfish motives.
What we all must do is allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in His righteousness. He cannot be canceled. Only God will do the canceling in the end!
