The Goleta Valley South Little League 11U All-Stars earned the District 63 title with a 10-3 victory over Foothill LL on Saturday at Montalvo Little League.

The District 63 championship banner is the fourth straight for this year’s GVSLL 11U squad, who dominated the entire tournament with a 4-0 record.

In those four games, GVSLL scored 29 runs and allowed just nine with a team batting average of .402. As a pitching staff, they had a team ERA of 2.25 and an opponent batting average of .184.

The GVSLL All-Stars will now compete in the Section 1 tournament, which this team won a year ago, from July 12-15.

As for Saturday’s matchup, GVSLL got on the board in the second inning with an RBI single from Jackson Murdock and a two-run double off the bat of Woods Malloch to go up 3-0.

Foothill tied things up in the top of the third, but GVSLL answered right back in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI groundout by Blake Bollman to regain the lead.

The fifth inning proved to be the biggest momentum swing of the game, as GVSLL poured on five runs to take a 10-3 lead and they never looked back on their way to a win.

In that fifth inning, Joseph Demmin, Aiden Hererra, Robert Denny, Murdock and Bollman all drove in runs.

Eli Swartz started the game for GVSLL, allowing three runs over 3 â…“ innings. Bollman then came in and slammed the door, tossing 2 â…” hitless innings to clinch the victory.

The GVSLL 11U All-Stars are Aiden Hererra, Alex Glaeser, Baron Smith, Blake Bollman, Brennan Zant, Eli Swartz, Jackson Murdock, Joseph Demmin, Kellan Johnson, Rio Lopes, Robert Denny and Woods Malloch.

The team is managed by Brett Bollman with assistant coaches Jesse Landeros, Adam Hererra and Matt Murdock.
