The Highway 101: Carpinteria to Santa Barbara project has announced the following revised updates:
In Montecito, the southbound off-ramp at San Ysidro Road has reopened, and the southbound on-ramp at Posilipo Lane is closed through spring 2026.
The divided northbound lanes between Hixon and Olive Mill roads will start July 20, along with the closure of the northbound off-ramp at San Ysidro Road.
During the lane shifts, motorists can expect both the northbound off-ramps at San Ysidro and Olive Mill roads to be closed as crews move concrete safety barriers.
Once the lanes are shifted, the northbound off-ramp at Olive Mill Road will reopen.
In Summerland, tree-planting continues along the southbound lanes by the southbound off-ramp at Evans Avenue and Greewell Creek. Irrigation work also continues on the northbound side.
In the Padaro segment, crews will continue working on new median safety barriers and drainage improvements. Crews will remove concrete barriers by the southbound on-ramp at Santa Claus Lane.
Highway 101: Carpinteria to Santa Barbara is a project undertaken by Caltrans and SBCAG in cooperation with local agencies to add a new carpool lane in each direction between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara.
Highway 101: Carpinteria is the first segment under construction as part of Highway 101: Carpinteria to Santa Barbara project.
