Casa del Herrero, a National Historic Landmark, has announced the appointment of Lily Marx as the new treasurer of its Board of Trustees.

Marx, a financial professional with experience in the public and private sectors, will oversee the financial stewardship of the organization as it prepares for its centennial celebration next year.

“We are delighted to welcome Lily to the Casa’s Board of Trustees as our new treasurer,” said Heather Biles, board president.

“Lily’s expertise in financial management will be instrumental in fortifying the Casa’s financial foundation, particularly as we advance our capital campaign in anticipation of Casa del Herrero’s 100th anniversary,” Biles said.

Marx has a background in auditing and financial management, including leadership in complex audits across various industries.

In her work as a senior auditor at Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Marx provides audit and financial advisory services to the Department of Defense and other federal entities responsible for acquisition and contract administration.

A Certified Public Accountant, Marx holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara. She is involved in a number of local organizations, including the National Charity League, Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (BUNS), Junior League of Santa Barbara, and Lobero Theatre Associates.

“I am honored to serve Casa del Herrero in this important role,” said Marx. “I eagerly look forward to working together with my fellow board members to advance our mission of preserving and protecting this treasured landmark.

“Casa del Herrero is a true gem of the Santa Barbara community, and I am thrilled to contribute to its continued legacy.”
