Question: What is the name and date of your event?

Answer: Walk to End Alzheimer’s Santa Barbara, November 16, 2024

Q: What is the mission, goal, and/or theme of this occasion?

A: Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

Q: Have you held this event before?

A: Yes, it is an annual event.

Q: Tell us some more details about your celebration?

A: 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Santa Barbara, CA is Saturday, November 16, 2024. It will be help at Chase Palm Park Field & Beach House, 236 E Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Registration is at 9:00 a.m., Ceremony at 10:00 a.m., Walk begins at 10:15 a.m. Contact Tamra Mariott, 805.617.0239, tamariott@alz.org for more information.

Q: How do people get involved with your event?

A: While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure. We are also looking for volunteers to help with this event, and join our planning committee.

Q: Is this a fundraising affair? If so, how will the funds raised help your organization?

A: Every dollar you raise benefits those affected by Alzheimer’s disease in your community.

The Alzheimer’s Association is a global organization, working to advance care, support and research across the world. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising worldwide research initiatives, the money you raise makes a difference in the lives of those facing Alzheimer’s.

Q: Who is sponsoring your event, and why is their support important?

A: We have many sponsors: Edward Jones, Sansum Clinic, Yardi, Vista Del Monte, Village Properties, US Bank, Oak Cottages of Santa Barbara, Montecito Bank & Trust, Love & Care, Covenant Living at the Samarkand, Casa Dorinda, BrightStar Care of Santa Barbara, BMW Santa Barbara Group, American Riviera Bank.

Q: Do you work with an Event Planner? If not, who are the key people who make it all happen?

A: No, this is a Volunteer run event, with Alzheimer’s Association Staff support.

Q: Does your organization have any other upcoming events this year?

A: We will be having a Gala in the Spring, date TBD.

Q: What are you planning as a post-event follow up?

A: We will have an event awards dinner.
